Things to do in Netherlands? Sailing with cheese!

We offer you a super trip under sail on the sailboat -  yacht Voolenmaen, where you can visit the cheese farm in the heart of the old Holland!
From the old port of Monnickendam, located just 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station, you go on a three-hour sailing trip on the IJsselmeer.
On the way back to the ship stopts at a restaurant on the water in Katwoude, where you get tea or coffee.

 

Then, having about 7 minutes on foot through the dam, you are on a cheesefarm, de Jacobs Hoeve. Here, near the world famous cheeses of Gouda and Edam, you'll find more than 30 varieties of cheese: with various spices, goat's, sheep'scheese. All you can try  test and if you want to buy it. You can also see here a old procedure of making cheese.

An hour later, we expect you back on board our sailing yacht. The skipper will take you to the starting point of travel - in the old port of Monnickendam.

3 hours | Wednesday, departure at 10.00 or 14.00 by the white bridge in front of Havenkantoor in the old harbor of Monnickendam.

Thing to do in Netherlands? Sail to the Marken island-museum!

 

 

 

 

On Sundays, sailing yacht  Voolenmaen organize for individual tourists sailing tours from historic Monnickendam on the island Marken. On the island you can see Holland is the same as in the old time, and to this daylocals jealously keep the traditions and culture of the island. 

The cost

 

 

€ 25, - p.p. (adult), € 12, - (children onder 12 years)

Sunday, departure at 11.00 or 15.00 of the white bridge in front of Havenkantoor in the old harbor of Monnickendam.

 

For big groups there may be other days on request.

The sailing trip takes about 3 hours. 2 hours - sailing (round-trip to the island Marken and back) and 1hour - walking through the picturesque Marken.
